We are the only security training school in Prince George certified by the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC). Our instructors have real-world experience and care about helping you succeed. Basic Security Course (BST)

This course is designed for anyone interested in starting a career in the exciting and growing field of security. It provides the knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, and professional standards needed to pass the Security Worker Competency Exam offered by the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC).

Participants will learn key topics such as professional conduct, relevant laws and regulations, note-taking, report writing, use of force, and tactical communication. This training builds a strong foundation to help students succeed both in the exam and on the job in the security industry.

After passing the JIBC exam, you will be eligible to apply for a Security Worker License from the Province of British Columbia. This license allows you to work as a licensed security guard in BC. Our course not only prepares you for the exam but also helps build the confidence and skills needed to start your new career.

Our Team

Northern BC Guard Academy is 100 percent Indigenous owned and operated. Jasons traditional territory is Saikuz First Nation and Joanne's traditional territory is Lheidli T'enneh First Nation. Jason and Joanne are both Dakelh also known as Carrier in the English language. They value all cultures and understand the importance of treating others with respect and dignity and incorporate these beliefs into every course they teach. Both have an extensive background and years of experience in law enforcement giving students first hand and real life scenarios preparing them for their future as Security professionals.

At Northern BC Guard Academy, we believe in personal, hands-on training led by real professionals. Our team is small but experienced, dedicated to helping every student feel confident and ready for their career in security. We are proud to be a locally owned.

Jeson

Trainer & Owner

Jeson brings real-world law enforcement experience to the classroom. He has 23 years of RCMP service in Prince George. He leads the Basic Security Training (BST) with a strong focus on professionalism, safety, and respect. His calm and practical teaching style makes learning easy, even for beginners with no previous background in security.
