Hello Valued Customers, Supporters and Friends,
I have been teaching Security for the last 19 years and I am conflicted to say as of April 1st, 2017 I will be shutting down Northern BC Guard Academy. My wife is also retiring and we plan, as most do, to relax and travel. She finds some humor in this as this will be my third retirement and is expecting a fourth. Stating what I have I will be teaching for one more year in various other academic facilities throughout the western reaches of the province. I am also saddened that I will no longer be working with Julie who has been such an asset as the business has grown. I wish her the best and good fortune. I am confident she will do well in whatever venture she encounters. I would also like to give a special thanks to Melanie and Eileen for their part in our success.
Once again, we appreciate all who have supported Northern BC Guard Academy. I hope to see you all out in the community and will keep my phone on for friendly chats.

Northern BC Security Solutions (NBCSS) is the sister company to Northern BC Guard Academy and is our newest tool in assisting you with the Security Worker Licencing process.
NBCSS is a service to the applicant who has successfully completed the Basic Security Training course and now must apply for their Security Worker Licence. With this service we complete all required documents, take a passport quality photograph, complete a criminal record check and take the fingerprints. We pay for one (or more) year of Security Licencing at the request of the applicant. We also forward the documents via expedited registered mail to the Ministry of Justice on behalf of the applicant.

He has over 30 years experience in adult education, 15 of those years in the instruction of Basic Security. He makes learning natural and fun! He was active with Community Prevention Initiatives such as Neighbourhood Watch, Block and Rural Crime Watch programs, DARE and more. There has never been so much demand for Certified Professional Security Guard Officers. Security guards are required by security companies, private industry, institutions, public facilities, casinos, and many other businesses. Opportunities for security guards are endless. Men and women can easily find a career as a security guard officer. As long as you are 19 or older, have a working knowledge of English and have no criminal record, you may work as a licensed Security Guard Officer. Almost all security guard positions do not require or encourage any physical intervention with the public. Although there is no physical component to the BST course required at this time, the Advanced BST (Handcuffing) course may be taken to supplement the BST course. Should physical training be desired the applicant is encouraged to become active in a local dojo or martial arts training club. Additional defensive tactics training is available upon request.

Northern BC Guard Academy is BC’s premier training centre for a career as a Certified Professional Security Guard or if you would like to enhance your qualifications in preparation for a career in protection of property and crime prevention. The Northern BC Guard Academy is not affiliated with a particular security company and is able to train guards from any company, focusing on increasing the skills and knowledge of each individual student and enabling them to have a safe and litigious free career.
